Dr Haritakis Papaioannou (Conservation Biologist, PhD, M.Sc. and Icthyologist) has been involved in nature conservation and wildlife management for nearly 30 years, as a field researcher in projects for brown bear, Balkan chamois, amphibians, raptors, flora and Natura 2000 habitats. He has been an active member of several NGOs, and leads the Balkan Chamois Society. Originated from Papingo, a picturesque mountainous village in the area of Zagori and from Konitsa a small town in Pindos Mountain range, he has also an excellent knowledge of nature and local culture in N. Pindos mountain range.
